April is National Volunteer Month

By Kathy Feeney Armistead--Feeney Legacy Project

National Volunteer Month honors volunteers that make a difference in our lives. It is also a month to encourage people to volunteer at any age. Volunteers donate their time to do the work most do not like to do--clean up after a run, foster dogs, sort books in the library, load trucks at the foodbank.

Hands on Atlanta is a great place to be a volunteer or at least look at the opportunities there.

  • Involve the kids

  • Volunteer with a friend

  • Go with your parents

  • Take a grandchild

  • Meet new people

Most non-profits, schools, faith organizations, neighborhood clubs, food banks and more depend upon volunteers to make their programs successful. I have always loved volunteering--it is uplifting especially since the organizations I volunteer with are so appreciative to have help.

Today start researching and give a few hours back to the community. and more want volunteers to help make a difference. The Feeney Legacy Project is also a place to be a volunteer--we NEED your skills. FLPers will love you and your help.

BIG thanks to all volunteers...and the hard work they generously do for the community.
